Having peace of mind can go a long way, especially when it comes to the performance of potentially life-saving equipment. After all, knowing that your AED will perform when you need it could mean much less stress when it matters most.
That’s why we offer AED warranties with all our devices. So you can feel safe in the knowledge that your defibrillator will always be Rescue Ready®, should you need it.
Unsure what to do when your AED warranty expires? We’ve put together this handy guide to help clear things up.
What is the warranty on my AED?
The length of your warranty period will depend on the make and model that you have purchased. Those with a Powerheart® G5 will have an 8 year warranty period from their purchase date, while those with the Powerheart® G3 will have a 7 year warranty period.
My warranty has expired – what does this mean for my AED?
The end of your warranty does not mean the end of your AED; it simply means that, should it suffer a fault or malfunction, your defibrillator will not be covered for a repair or replacement by the manufacturer. You can still continue to use your device when it is out of warrantly. However, as with all manufacturers, the warranty period provided is based on what we expect the full operational life of the equipment to be.
Of course, it’s always safer to have an AED that is in warranty. It not only allows for peace of mind, but also means that you are covered should something go wrong with the functionality of your device – something that could end up costing you more time and money in the long run.
Should I get a new AED?
While we always recommend having an AED that is in warranty, if you feel that yours is working well, it isn’t always necessary to get a new one. Your defibrillator should let you know of any problems after performing its routine daily self-checks – which should be fixed immediately to avoid any malfunction during potentially critical moments.
However if, like us, you think it’s always better to be safe than sorry, then our trade in offers for Powerheart® AEDs with expired warranties should help.
How do I trade in my old AED?
If your AED has reached or is nearing the end of its warranty period then don’t worry, at Cardiac Science, we offer highly discounted trade-in options on out of warranty Powerheart® AEDs for the Powerheart® G5 AED. The Powerheart® G3 AED is no longer sold in the UK and has been replaced by the Powerheart® G5 AED which features all the best parts of the Powerheart® G3 with a few extras – meaning you can save money and restore your peace of mind.
