New Area Sales Manager For Cardiac Science


LNew-Area-Sales-Manager-David-Joneseading manufacturers of automatic external defibrillators Cardiac Science has expanded its sales team in the South and East of the country.

David Jones, 46, from Claydon in Suffolk, will be looking after areas of the UK covered by three ambulance services – East of England, East Midlands and South East Coast.

He will be tasked with building relationships with these ambulance services, St John’s Ambulance and the Red Cross as well as an independent network of private health and safety distributors.

He will also be working closely with the corporate team at Cardiac Science opening up multi-site opportunities with bigger businesses.

A former employee of one of Cardiac Science’s distributors – BOC healthcare – for over 16 years, and then an independent agent, David brings excellent knowledge of the market place and the Cardiac Science product range to the role.

UK MD of Cardiac Science Shaun Ingram said David had been a natural fit for the company. “In many ways he was doing the job already – especially in his independent capacity – and we are excited to have him fully on board with us. East and South of England is a growth area for us, densely populated, with plenty of opportunity to educate and supply.”

David echoed the theme: “I do see a big part of the role as educating people – the public and our customers – on how essential a defibrillator is and the importance of choosing the right device and training support.”

Famous for its Powerheart G3 product Cardiac Science has now launched a newer G5 model which is the first AED to combine step-by-step prompts for first time rescuers, fast shock times and variable escalating energy – giving more of a shock if needed.

It also provides downloadable data to hospitals after an incident.

David will also be concentrating on existing customers with devices coming up for renewals and getting to know everyone.

He also has a special interest in working with other emergency services – fire and police – and looking at schemes to help them get devices on board vehicles, often first at an emergency scene.

“A number of police forces as well as mental health trusts have already taken units and one fire service has championed half-price funding schemes to supply defibrillators into the wider community. It’s great work.”

When not out selling defibrillators David likes to spend time with his 9-month old son and, as a former alpine instructor, he still enjoys skiing and a variety of other snow sports.
